Frequently Asked Questions

Is Indiana Solar Quotes a solar installation company?

No. We’re a connection service — we pass your information to solar providers serving your area, and any quote, contract, or installation happens directly between you and that provider. See About This Service.

Do I still get 30% off with the federal solar tax credit in 2026?

Not if you own the system outright (cash or loan) — that credit dropped to 0% for homeowner-owned systems installed on or after January 1, 2026. Leases and PPAs may still connect to a separate commercial credit. Full detail on our Incentives & Tax Credits page.

Does Indiana still have net metering?

Mostly no for new systems. Since 2022, four of Indiana’s five largest utilities enroll new solar systems in a lower-paying Excess Distributed Generation program instead. NIPSCO runs a separate, generally higher-paying feed-in tariff. See Indiana Net Metering & EDG.

How much does solar cost in Indiana?

Published market ranges put installed cost around $2.50–$3.29 per watt, with Indiana’s average system size (around 13 kW) costing roughly $31,000–$42,000 before incentives. See Solar Panel Cost in Indiana for detail and sourcing.

Does it matter which utility serves me?

Yes, more than in most states. NIPSCO’s feed-in tariff has generally paid meaningfully more per kWh than the EDG rate used by AES Indiana, CenterPoint, Duke Energy Indiana, and Indiana Michigan Power. See Indiana Net Metering & EDG.

Is solar worth it for my home?

It depends heavily on which utility serves you, your usage, your roof, and financing — there’s no single answer that fits every home. See Is Solar Worth It in Indiana?

Is there any cost or obligation to use this service?

Submitting the form does not obligate you to purchase anything. Any pricing, contract, or financing terms are set by the provider that contacts you.
